Traveling to Denver? Activity guide for Colorado Travelers.

Welcome to Denver, Colorado (:

We’re so glad you’re here! As someone who’s called this city home since I was 12, I’m excited to be your designated travel guide. I’ve had plenty of time to explore and discover all the amazing spots Colorado has to offer. Now, I’m thrilled to share my insider travel tips on where to go and what to do when you travel to Denver. Whether you’re into artsy adventures, thrilling sports, or just soaking up the local vibe, Denver has something for everyone. So, buckle up and get ready for a tour of my favorite spots—consider this your ultimate guide to conquering the city like a local.

The Boulder Tea House: Travel For The Tea

If you travel to Denver and venture a little outside the city, don’t miss The Boulder Tea House. This stunning building has a rich history, handcrafted by over 40 artisans from Tajikistan. The teahouse was designed, built, disassembled, and then shipped to Boulder, Colorado, where it was carefully reassembled. If you book before you travel, you can enjoy a delightful afternoon tea, featuring a selection of teas along with an assortment of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries.

If tea isn’t your thing, I still recommend spending some time outside on a sunny day in Boulder, admiring the building’s vibrant ceramic paneling and hand-painted ceilings. If you prefer other beverages, the cocktails here are superb. The dishes are exceptional, and the South Asian options are my personal favorite. Worth the travel!

Butterfly Pavilion: Travel For Nature

Do you like butterflies? (If you said no, this is definitely not the place for you.) But if you have a special interest in entomology or simply enjoy the idea of being surrounded by more butterflies than you can count, I highly recommend the Butterfly Pavilion. Step into an interactive insect zoo featuring over 1,600 free-flying butterflies in a tropical conservatory, along with exhibits showcasing a diverse array of invertebrates and their crucial roles in our fragile ecosystems. When you visit during certain hours of the afternoon, it feels like you've travelled to a new planet!

Bonus: You'll travel back home with the most gorgeous pictures to show your friends from Denver!

Old Town Fort Collins: Travel For The Vibes

If you’re looking to incorporate a blend of shopping, dining, and maybe a few college shenanigans in your travels, Old Town Fort Collins is your spot. This charming and historic district boasts well-preserved 19th-century architecture, a vibrant arts scene, eclectic shops, diverse restaurants, and a lively nightlife.

Fun Fact: Old Town Fort Collins even served as an inspiration for Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A. So, in a way, you’re travelling to Disneyland!

Fun Fact Part 2: Swing by the Bar District on a Thursday night where, for just $10, you can enjoy as many drinks as you want. It’s a great deal for a fun night out!

Catch the Light Rail

Travelling within the Denver Metro Area? I’m a huge fan of public transportation, and as a dedicated supporter of the Colorado Department of Transportation, I can’t recommend the RTD light rail system enough. This incredible network serves Denver and its surrounding areas with unmatched convenience. Land at the airport, hop on the light rail, and you’ll effortlessly reach your hotel and all your destinations. Heading to a Broncos game? The light rail’s got you covered. Planning a shopping spree at Cherry Creek Mall? You’ll have a ride home. Meeting friends in Old Town Arvada for drinks? No need to worry about a designated driver. The ease and convenience of the light rail system are truly unbeatable and will make your travel plans 10 times easier!

Bonus: If you find yourself a bit lost or unsure which line to take, don’t stress—people in Colorado are super friendly and always happy to help. 😊
